CHOTI SARDARNI WRITTEN UPDATE JUNE 5 2023 RAMOGI TV
6 min 39 secThe story begins in a devotional setting where holy prayers are being carried out. We are then introduced to a seemingly powerful woman at the construction site who is directing a grader and urging the operator to keep coming forward.
However, the lead engineer interrupts and declares that they will resume work the following day as they have been working since last night. Enraged, the woman slaps him hard and demands that the job is completed before sunset.
She lectures and informs him that people only cheer for those who kneel before her, Chief Kulwant Kaur. She sits on the grader and tells her son Rana to take pictures of her with the engineer and post them on Facebook and other social media platforms.
Kulwant's eldest son is then shown chasing after his little son Yuvi to prepare him for a special occasion. In the process, he accidentally knocks over a lady, causing the marigolds she was carrying to scatter on the floor.
As they collect the flowers, the lady inquires, "Where are you rushing off to?" He replies, "I don't know how to tell you. It's all your fault. I'm amazed that you gave birth to that mischievous boy. He's not getting ready." The lady smiles at him and asks, "Is that all?"
Elsewhere, a very beautiful lady is shown making sweets. Someone calls her Meher, the protagonist, and she responds. She looks down from the rooftop and sees Yuvi's mother, who gestures for her to help them prepare their naughty son for the ritual.
Meher calls Yuvi and asks him to be ready before the countdown of ten, and he obeys. She comes downstairs, and her presence is felt all around. (Meher is introduced as a chirpy and bubbly lady who is loved by everyone in the house while also having strict boundaries). Yuvi gets ready, and when Meher's sister-in-law asks her what's in her reverse counting that Yuvi always listens to, she responds that it's not just a countdown.
Yuvi's Dastar Bandi ritual takes place.
Everyone congratulates Chief Kulwant. Kulwant blesses Yuvi and asks for a photo to be taken. Meher tells Yuvi that one blessing is left, and she takes him to his grandpa's photo. She tells him he should be proud of his grandfather, who was a martyr for the country. Kulwant comes and says that Yuvi should also be proud to be her grandson, as she built businesses and the house for them.
Yuvi's dad intervenes and tells him that Chief Kulwant, her grandmother, is a super grandma. He then carries Yuvi around his neck and walks out. Meher remembers her dad, a fallen soldier, giving her a piggyback ride like that.
Meher's family poses for a photo. Mr. Hukumchand, a senior government official, graces the occasion, and Chief Kulwant offers him panjeri, a traditional Indian snack. She seizes the opportunity to sell herself and requests him to help her climb the higher ranks of leadership. Just then, Kulwant's son pulls her aside, saying that Meher has created trouble by gathering all the poor people outside.
Kulwant asks her daughter-in-law, Amrita, to stay with the guests as she goes to handle the situation outside. She comes and finds Meher and Yuvi feeding a crowd of poor people. She is about to punish Meher when Amrita emerges with Mr. Hukumchand, who praises Kulwant's generosity and suggests that she deserves a ticket to run for political office - a privilege she was earlier denied - and promises to introduce her to Sarabjit Gill.
Later, Meher is going to meet her friends, but Kulwant stops her and asks why she caused drama earlier. Kulwant pinches Amrita's ears for always covering up for Meher and then orders Meher to do ten sit-ups as punishment.
Meher obeys but asks her why she's punishing them when all they did was get her points in front of Mr. Hukumchand. Kulwant realizes this and frees Meher, but before she can even step out of the door, she stops her and orders her to take off her shoes...and wear hers instead, as a sign of appreciation for her help.
Meher's brother also gifts her with a brand new jeep, and she appreciates it. On top of this, Kulwant gives her a gold bangle, overwhelming her with joy. She hugs Kulwant and thanks her before driving off in her jeep.
As Meher's car leaves the compound, a woman named Shanno approaches Kulwant and informs her that she's found a well-off family that's ready to marry her daughter Meher, but they are not as rich and popular as they are. Kulwant rejects the proposal, saying that the man who'll marry her daughter must have an image, stature, and strength; for if Meher gets married to some common guy, she'll end up resolving their problems in the future.
Meher goes to Manav's shop with her jeep. Manav asks if he can get her anything and notices her nice car. She orders a half-plate of food. It turns out that the two are lovebirds. Meher gives sweets to some elders and invites Manav for a ride. They branch at a shop where Manav buys her a locket.
Meher asks Manav to drive so she can see his charming face, but her mum's call ordering her to get home immediately as it is already late ruins their moment. She rushes home and ends up hitting a police van parked by the road.
Manav alights and approaches the police, pleading with him to forgive his 'wife' as she's still new behind the wheels. The officer allows them to leave with just a warning. Meher tells Manav to meet Kulwant, implying that she wants her approval for their relationship.
At the family table, Amrita says Shanno's proposal was nice, and she wonders why Kulwant said no to it. Kulwant says she will find the perfect match for Meher, but Meher argues that she might find her own soulmate, annoying Kulwant. Meher's brother mentions that modern times call for certain norms and requests that they sit down to eat.
Kulwant expresses that Meher said something that made her feel disrespected. She warns her not to say it again, else she'll suffer the consequences, and orders her to go to her room. She tells Rana and Bitu that there are certain things she deems off-limits and instructs them to keep a close watch on Meher.
Meanwhile, Meher calls Manav, and he answers with a smile in his voice.
She implores him to speak to her mother, but Manav requests that she wait until the time is right. Meher reveals that she has proposals for marriage coming her way, and he assures her that he will visit her soon. Sharma suggests that Manav get a personal phone instead of always using the landline.
However, Manav insists that he wants to focus on his studies first.
Rana and Bitu barge in and confiscate Meher's phone. They ask her who she was talking to, but Meher remains silent. They call back the last number on her phone and are greeted by the voice of Sharma's eatery.
Bitu tries to place an order but is informed that the eatery is closed. Kulwant reprimands Bitu for informing Meher that they were instructed to keep an eye on her. She expresses her eagerness to find a suitable match for Meher.
Meher gazes at Manav's photograph and wishes he had a phone. However, she quickly realizes that it's a blessing in disguise as it prevents her from getting into trouble. She decides to wait for the good news Manav promised her to appear in the newspaper.
