RIPOTI za tafiti za kura ya maoni zimekuwa zikimkweza waziri wa Usalama Prof Kithure Kindiki kuwa kidedea katika uchapakazi ikilinganishwa na mawaziri wengine wa serikali ya Kenya Kwanza. Ripoti iliyotolewa na shirika la InfoTrak wiki iliyopita, kwa mfano, ilisema Prof Kindiki anaongoza kwa uchapa kazi kwa asilimia 60. Utafiti huo ulisema kuwa idadi kubwa ya Wakenya walioshiriki walisema kuwa Prof Kindiki ndiye waziri anayeongoza kwa kutatua changamoto zinazokumbwa raia. Mwaka jana, Prof Kindiki alionya vikali wanasiasa ambao wangethubutu kuongoza maandamano dhidi ya Mswada wa Fedha wa 2023 kwa kisingizio kwamba maandamano hayo yangesababisha uharibifu wa mali. Serikali imekuwa ikitumia kisingizio cha uharibifu wa mali kukandamiza haki ya kuandamana humu nchini. Kisingizio hiki ni sawa na msemo kwamba: fisi akitaka kula wanawe huanza kwa kuwasingizia kwamba wana harufu ya mbuzi. Mapema mwaka huu, polisi walitumia nguvu kutawanya madaktari waliokuwa wakiandamana kutetea haki yao; hali iliyosababisha kujeruhiwa kwa Katibu Mkuu wa Chama cha Madaktari Dkt Davji Atellah. Katika kulinda haki ya Wakenya kuandamana, Prof Kindiki anapata alama ya asilimia 10. Tayari tumeona maafisa wa polisi wakikabiliana na waandamanaji wanaopinga Mswada wa Fedha wa 2024 kwa kuwarushia vitoa machozi. Kwa mujibu wa wataalamu, Mswada wa Fedha wa 2024, unakandamiza raia na haufai kwani utasababisha gharama ya maisha kwenda juu. Hivyo basi, maafisa wa polisi hawafai kutatiza maandamano ya Wakenya kabla na baada ya kupitishwa kwa mswada huo. Maandamano ndiyo sauti ya Wakenya viongozi waliowachagua wanapowasaliti.

Paul Maucha, 59, alihukumiwa na mahakama ya Amerika kutumikia kifungo cha miezi 135 gerezani na kutozwa faini ya zaidi ya dola milioni 2.1 (Sh271.1 milioni). Mwanamume huyo ambaye sasa atatumikia takriban miaka 11 na miezi mitatu jela alihukumiwa Juni 11 na Jaji wa Mahakama ya Amerika Carl J. Nichols. Alikuwa ameshtakiwa kwa 'kuhusika na makosa yanayohusiana na njama ya uwekezaji'. Hii ni aina ya ulaghai wa kifedha ambapo waathiriwa wanadanganywa kulipa kiasi fulani cha pesa kwa kampuni kwa kisingizio kwamba baadaye wangepokea mikopo ya mamilioni au manufaa mengine. Taarifa kutoka stakabadhi za mahakama zilizoonekana na Taifa Dijitali zinaonyesha kuwa Aprili 27, 2021, alifunguliwa mashitaka na mahakama akiwa na shtaka moja la kula njama ya kufanya udanganyifu, makosa matatu ya ulaghai na mawili ya kushiriki katika uhamishaji wa  mali inayotokana na uhalifu. Wachunguzi walifahamisha mahakama kwamba waathiriwa walifikiwa na ahadi za ufadhili na fursa za uwekezaji kupitia AESG na mashirika yake yanayohusiana kwa sharti walipe ada mapema. "AESG iliwahadaa waathiriwa kwamba ada za mapema zingeweza kurejeshwa ikiwa AESG  hangewapa  mkopo. Kama ilivyothibitishwa katika kesi, Maucha na mshiriki mwenzake walijua kuwa AESG haikuwa na mtaji wa kutoa mikopo hii na waathiriwa hawangehakikishwa  kurudishiwa pesa zao kwa sababu Maucha  mwenzake walikuwa wakigawanya ada kati yao wenyewe na kuzitumia. “Hakukuwa na pesa za kurejeshwa,” wapelelezi hao walisema. Stakabadhi za kesi zinaonyesha kwamba Maucha alikamatwa Mei 12, 2021 na uraia wake pia ukawa suala la wasiwasi baadaye. Alikuwa ameachiliwa akisubiri kesi kusikilizwa kwa masharti ambayo ni pamoja na kwamba hangekiuka sheria za jimbo na kusalimisha pasipoti yake, hatapokea pasipoti au hati nyingine yoyote ya kusafiri ya kimataifa na angekaa ndani ya Columbia eneo la Maryland na Virginia. Takriban miaka miwili baadaye, serikali iliiomba mahakama kumzuilia, kwa madai kuwa alikiuka sharti lililomtaka kutotenda uhalifu. Serikali ilisema kwamba Maucha alifanya uhalifu alipotoa taarifa za uongo kwa afisa wa Huduma ya Upelelezi ambaye alimhoji kwa kudai kwamba alizaliwa New York na ni raia wa Amerika. Hata hivyo, ombi la serikali lilitupiliwa mbali na Mahakama mnamo Juni. 2, 2023. Badala yake, iliamriwa aachiliwe chini ya masharti yaliyorekebishwa ya kifungo cha nyumbani. Ilizidi kufichuliwa kuwa uraia wake ulithibitishwa kutokana na machapisho katika akaunti yake ya Facebook kuhusu utambulisho wa mamake na vilevile cheti cha ndoa ambacho kilionyesha kuwa wazazi wake walizaliwa nchini Tanzania. Akizungumzia hukumu hiyo, Keri Farley, Afisa wa FBI Atlanta, alisema inapaswa kuwa onyo kwamba shirika hilo litaendelea kuchunguza uhalifu na kuhakikisha kuwa wahusika wanachukuliwa hatua za kisheria. “Ulaghai wa uwekezaji unaweza kuwa mgumu kuchunguza na kushtaki kutokana na hali ya kimataifa ya shughuli za uhalifu. Chama cha MK kiliibuka nambari tatu katika uchaguzi mkuu uliofanyika Mei 29 mwaka huu. Kimeapa kwamba wabunge wake wapatao 58 hawataunga mkono serikali mpya ya muungano. Aidha, Zuma amewahi kusema kuwa chama chake hakitafanya mazungumzo na kile cha Afrika National Congress (ANC) endapo Rais Ramaphosa ataendelea kuwa kiongozi wake. Ramaphosa alichaguliwa tena na wabunge Ijumaa iliyopita na kupata nafasi ya kuhudumu kwa muhula wa pili. Hii ni baada ya ANC kuelewana kubuni muungano na chama kikuu cha upinzani cha Democratic Alliance (DA) na vyama vingine vidogo. “Idadi kubwa ya vyama vya kisiasa vinalalamika kuwa havikutendewa haki. Tunataka suala hili liangaliwe,” Zuma akasema. Katiba imeruhusu maandamano na polisi hawana sababu ya kuwashika waandamanaji,” Bw Musyoka alisema. “Ni haki ya Wakenya kuandamana na kupinga sheria ama maongozi yanayokinzana na Katiba. Haifai kamwe kwa polisi kutumika vibaya kuwatesa umma,” alisema Bw Musyoka. Kuhusu kifo cha Bi Kivuti, Bw Musyoka alisema inasikitisha sana kwamba Bi Kivuti alikumbana na mauti akiwa katika harakati zake za kutumikia Wakenya. Bw Musyoka aliitaka idara ya mahakama ikumbatie uhuru na utekelezaji haki ndipo wawekezaji wawe na imani na nchi hii. Kinara huyo wa Azimio alitoa wito kwa mawakili na majaji washirikiane kuhakikisha kwamba uhuru wa idara ya mahakama hauvurugwi na yeyote. Bw Musyoka aliungana na Majaji wa Mahakama ya Rufaa, Mahakama Kuu, Mahakama za Kadhi na Mahakimu kumuomboleza Bi Kivuti aliyekufa kutokana na majeraha ya risasi nne zilizokwama mwilini mwake. Kipruto aliuawa papo hapo katika mahakama ya Makadara baada ya kutekeleza uhalifu huo. Ujumbe wa Jaji Mkuu Martha Koome ulisomwa na Jaji Eric Ogola. Jaji Koome alimpa sifa sufufu Bi Kivuti na kuahidi kwamba usalama utaimarisgwa katika mahakama zote nchini. Jaji Koome alipiga marufuku mahakama zote zinazoendelezwa kwenye hema. Bi Kivuti alihudumu katika mahakama mbali mbali na kupanda gazi kutokana na bidii yake kazini. Bi Kivuti atakumbukwa kama hakimu shujaa katika utenda kazi wake.

SERIKALI imewahakikishia raia wa Haiti kwamba imejitolea kutuma polisi wa Kenya kudumisha amani katika nchi yao. Inspekta Jenerali wa polisi, Japhet Koome ambaye alifanya mazungumzo na ujumbe wa polisi wa Haiti uliozuru makao makuu ya Huduma ya Kitaifa ya Polisi (NPS), jijini Nairobi, alionea fahari ushirikiano utakaosaidia kurejesha utawala wa sheria na utulivu nchini Haiti. Akizungumza baada ya kukutana na ujumbe huo jana, Koome alisema Kenya imejitolea kutuma polisi Haiti. "Huduma ya Kitaifa ya Polisi (NPS) imejitolea kushirikiana katika juhudi hizi, kwa manufaa ya watu wa Haiti, hasa wanawake na watoto," Bw Koome alisema. Mwenzake wa nchi Haiti alimhakikishia kwamba Haiti itawapa polisi wa Kenya usaidizi wote unaohitajika ili kufanikiwa katika shughuli hiyo. "Tunategemea msaada wenu kwa manufaa ya watu wa Haiti, hasa wanawake na watoto," afisa wa Polisi wa Haiti Joachim Prohete alisema.
