THAPKI ENGLISH WRITTEN UPDATE APRIL 20 2023
4 min 5 secThe episode starts with Kosi urging her granddaughter, Bani, to break Tina and Samar's marriage. Bani refuses and defends Tina's innocence. Kosi uses hurtful words against Bani, reminding her of their past struggles and insinuating that Tina's happiness is Bani's misfortune.
She then asks Bani to make a promise to stop the marriage, using Thapki's perceived betrayal as a basis for revenge. Later that night, Thapki sings a lullaby for Bani and Tina, but Bani's mind is consumed with hatred and revenge.
She recalls her promise and makes up her mind to take action to stop Tina's engagement. Tina hears a noise and thinks a stray dog has entered the house. She finds Kosi sitting behind their sofa. When asked about the stench, Kosi confirms that she has been drinking alcohol.
Thapki intervenes and reprimands Kosi for her behavior in front of the children and asks her to give good values to Bani. Bani breaks Kosi's bottle, asserting that she will make her sister's engagement a success. Samar contacts Thapki to discuss the engagement.
Bani meets him in the market and he calls her aunty, mistaking her for Thapki, which embarrasses her. She causes a commotion, but Thapki arrives and neutralizes the situation. Thapki introduces Bani to Samar, who apologizes for his mistake.
He shows Thapki the deal papers which his mother, Dolly, signed with Vasundhara and asks her about it. Thapki admits she knew and promises to convince the overprotective Vasundhara to let Tina stay in his (Samar's) house.
Suman advises Tina not to stress out, or else it will make Vasundhara tense and cause more trouble. Just then, they spot Bani and Kosi approaching them. Kosi reveals to Tina that Bani has opened her eyes and offers her a bowl of spiked 'prasad' to drink.
Tina is about to drink it when Bani snatches it from her and drinks it instead. Kosi scolds Bani for her action and goes after her. Bani vomits the drink. When Kosi questions her, Bani confesses that she cannot stand for Tina to be hurt, and that she can never do wrong to her.
Kosi realizes that she needs to manipulate Bani once more and starts to remind her of their past. Bani agrees to do what Kosi suggests, to hurt Tina so as to get to Thapki directly. Thapki walks in on Bani while she is vomiting, and Bani claims that she is fine.
Kosi remarks on the disparity between Thapki's words and actions and instructs Bani not to show any weakness, to which Bani nods in agreement. Samar's mother asks Vasundhara why she sent the engagement ring to Tina. Vasundhara explains, and she agrees, saying that whatever Vasundhara says is a message from God.
She puts on the ring and says that she had already ordered a fake ring for Tina. Samar comes and asks her to come along. Thapki hugs Tina, telling her that she chose Samar for her. Bani comes and remarks on how good they all look in their outfits.
Thapki applies 'teeka' to both of them. Bani stops them from leaving and asks them to have sweets first. Thapki feeds Tina some sweets. Bani smiles. Guests turn up for the engagement ceremony. Samar's fans ask him for his autograph.
While onlookers admire him, Bani thinks to herself that he looks like a clown and that she must take him down from his pedestal. She scribbles something on a piece of paper and intentionally bumps into Samar. Everyone laughs at Samar, surprising him.
Thapki removes the paper from his back. Upon reading it, Samar is taken aback and confronts Bani why she patched the "Aunty" tag on his back. Bani responds that nobody dare to joke with her, and calls him "uncle." Suman urges Tina to get up, reminding her that Samar is waiting for her.
Meanwhile, Samar's mother plots to change his ring as well. She sees Suman and asks her where her daughter-in-law is... Vasundhara suggests starting the engagement and compliments Tina's Kathak Dance since childhood, expressing a desire to witness it.
Tina comes on stage to entertain the guests. Kosi commends Bani for having mixed drugs in Tina's sweets. Bani appears remorseful briefly, but Kosi reassures her that it was the right thing to do and that Tina will turn into the cheerful Chikni Chameli from thereon.
During Tina's dance performance, Bani starts to feel regretful as she watches her erratic behavior with Samar. While dancing, Tina mistakenly slaps Dolly, her to-be mother-in-law. Thapki screams Tina's name, who appears to have lost all control of her senses. Kosi grins, while Samar is left horrified.
